Call it hitting two birds with one stone – our cousin Jessica, whom we haven’t seen in 13 years, is on vacation from the US and we wanted to take her out; we haven’t seen Dave in action with Rico Blanco although he’s been touring with him all over the Philippines for a while now. So off we went, in full force, to Eastwood City last night.
Robert, Jessica and I had all ridden with Bombing and Chilie. After doing a poll, we decided to go to a Jollibee drive-thru to get light snacks which was a good thing because the traffic was horrible coming from the South, with pouring rain added to the mix. Thankfully, Kuya Bong and Ate Zaida arrived earlier and had secured strategically-placed seats for us outside Jack’s Loft. The show was slated to start at 8pm, but with the ever-so-reliable ‘Filipino time’, the 5 of us got to Eastwood at a little past 8pm with lots of time to spare.
We had just gotten settled when the show kicked off with a front act – Taken by Cars, if I remember the name correctly. A big crowd started gathering then, and we busied ourselves with finishing off our dinner. Robert finished his meal just in time and as soon as Rico Blanco stepped on the stage, he was off to take photographs. Bernard, Jill and two of her friends who were with us joined the crowd standing near the stage to watch the band from up close. The rest of us, though we hung back at our table, stood from time to time to catch a glimpse of David playing. The general consensus was, no wonder he lost a lot of weight – he did a lot of jumping onstage. Lol.
Below are the pictures Robert took of our favorite Rockstar. Haha.
